....... Grant Women's Hospital had a, shall we say, different request. In order to provide privacy to their interior corridors and special care nursery area, they chose a design that would create an "aquarium feel" to their renovated wing. After selecting the design and contractor, SolarTex, Inc. was brought in to replicate their vision and bring it to life. We worked tirelessly by modifying pattern files, producing and installing mock ups for approval and finally fabrication and installation of the approved products to meet their needs. While this was a tough project we felt we had the expertise and vision to make it happen.
Of particular concern in this project (and legitimately so) was the fact that the exposed edges of the graphics would be vulnerable to damage from folks seeing the pattern and for some reason deciding to "pick" at the edges. We resolved this potential liability by applying a clear "anti-graffiti" film on top of the cut graphics. While being clear, and adding extra protection by blocking damaging Ultra-Violet light, this solution provided the peace of mind that the application would stand the test of time. Best of all, in contrast to deciding to have the glass acid-etched, should the needs of the space change, the film can be removed and a new vision can be lived out by the hospital.
Decorative vinyl, bringing vision to reality and providing solutions to complex problems............ we love this stuff!
